Nine Liars (Truly Devious #5)
Another solid if mostly unremarkable entry in the series.
I’d forgotten everything about the previous books, but I was able to follow this one just fine. Like The Box in the Woods, this book is a self-contained mystery, which I prefer. There are some continuing threads, but they’re around the characters rather than the murder.
This time it’s an English murder mystery, featuring a set of Cambridge students in a manor house in Gloucestershire. Good fun, and all the British experiences rang true to me. I didn’t see the end coming, but it was a well-constructed conclusion and it felt satisfying.
I’ll definitely pick up the next book when it’s released.
